National OPRC Level II Workshop – Trinidad & Tobago

Dr. Elliott Taylor, together with Matt Martin (USCG/IMO), Michael Hernandez (OSRL) and Nadia Gour (RAC-REMPEITC) delivered a National Workshop on Oil Pollution Preparedness, Response and Cooperation (OPRC) Convention Level II for the government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. The 4-day workshop was coordinated by REMPEITC-Caribe and the Ministry of Works and Transport. Activities entailed presentations that followed the model IMO course and that were tailored for discussion pertinent to the risks, environment, and operating conditions of the country. Participants also visited the field where they were introduced to key components of oil spill response equipment followed by a tour of the major oily waste handling facility, courtesy of Tiger Tanks Trinidad.
