Dr. Elliott Taylor was contracted as the lead consultant to deliver a two-day plenary workshop on the use of RETOSTM for the assessment of national oil spill response programs. The Sub-regional Workshop on the use of RETOSTM was organized by the Regional Marine Pollution Emergency Response Centre for the Mediterranean Sea (REMPEC). Participants represented national competent authorities in charge of the preparedness for and response to marine pollution from ships for the Central and Eastern Mediterranean Region. Countries represented were Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Israel, Libya, Montenegro, Monaco, Slovenia, and Tunisia. The plenary session was followed by individual virtual sessions with each country to undertake an informal assessment of their respective National Oil Spill Plan and Preparedness Programs. SeaAlarm and ITOPF were participating organizations in assisting with the assessments.
