As a result of the current environment and difficulty in teaching classes to large gatherings of people, Polaris is trying a new method for teaching SCAT classes. We have developed a new online Introduction to SCAT course at Udemy. This is a 2 hour course broken into a few modules that provides an introduction or high-level review of SCAT and how it fits into a spill response. It is a great class for:
- Decision makers looking for an understanding of what SCAT is and how it fits into a response
- Responders who may interact with a SCAT program during a response (EU, Planning, Operations, Command Staff, etc.)
- First step for future SCAT team members
- Refresher for people who have taken a SCAT class before
The class is free and can be completed at your own pace. Depending on the interest and feedback from this first course we may develop a longer and more detailed SCAT course for those interested.
