Polaris recently completed pre-SCAT mapping of the Upper Mississippi River from St. Paul (MN) above Pool 1 to Pool 18 and the confluence with the Iowa River. The project, completed for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad (BNSF) and Canadian Pacific Railroad (CP) included pre-segmentation along nearly 8000km of river shoreline features, defining river bank types and ESI categories, documentation of sensitive resources, and identification of access, logistical, and operational features.
