SCAT

Shoreline Cleanup Assessment Technique (SCAT)

The SCAT process involves the assessment of shorelines and shoreline oiling conditions, evaluation of environmental and cultural considerations, and the development of treatment endpoints and clean up recommendations.  This process is part of the response and supports Operations in their decision making and treatment of shorelines, however, SCAT information and data are regularly used for a variety of purposes during a spill including NRDA.  POLARIS personnel have been pivotal in the development and continual refinement of the SCAT process over the last 25 years.  By providing trained and knowledgeable individuals for SCAT program management, field teams, data management and logistics POLARIS can develop and run a complete SCAT program for our clients.

POLARIS also offers training courses covering all aspects of the SCAT process.
