Dr. Elliott Taylor assisted in executing a National Contingency Planning Workshop on oil spill preparedness, response and co-operation in conformity with the i990 OPRC Convention. In conjunction with Commander Paul Lattanzi (USCG) from the Regional Marine Pollution Emergency Information and Training Centre for the Wider Caribbean (RAC/REMPEITC-Caribe), the 29-31 March 2016 activities encompassed:
- Providing a 1-day executive level training course to enhance knowledge of oil spills, oil spill response and national obligations under the OPRC Convention;
- Assisting with the development and delivery of an updated National Contingency Plan;
- Facilitating the workshop activities; and
- Preparing observations and recommendations for IMO activity report.
